Meet BICWAs evokeAG 2024 participant: Red Earth Pollen

Perth, 17 Jan 2024

In the realm of innovative businesses in Western Australia, Red Earth Pollen stands out as a young and forward-thinking participant in the upcoming evokeAG events.

Providing a unique insight into its operations, Red Earth Pollen will open its factory doors to bus delegates on Sunday, 18 February, as part of the BICWA-organised one-day bus tour titled 'A Buzz with Bees – Honey Experience and Bus Tour.'

Continuing its involvement, Red Earth Pollen will be present at the BICWA innovation stall at the evokeAG 2024 main event held on February 20 and 21.

Let us introduce the Red Earth Group of Companies, consisting of Red Earth Pollen and Red Earth Honey.

Family-owned and operated, these enterprises are committed to ethical and sustainable beekeeping practices at their core.

Red Earth Pollen is the largest processor and wholesaler of Australian bee pollen.

“We pride ourselves on providing pure, premium bee pollen, harvested from the pristine forests of Western Australia.

We are proud to support local beekeepers by providing an alternative source of income to more traditional commodities like honey and paid pollination services” says owner Dr Mat Welch.

In addition to providing premium pollen for human consumption in the food-for-health sector, Red Earth Pollen offers a diverse range of products to cater to the needs of both Australian and global customers in the aquarist, insectary, and equine sectors.

Red Earth Honey provides mated queen bees, nucleus colonies and packaged bees to commercial and hobbyist beekeepers throughout Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.

“Beehives require requeening every 1-2 years to ensure they perform at peak efficiency and are resilient.

Many beekeepers lack the time or expertise to raise queens in sufficient numbers.

Accessing quality breeding stock can be challenging,” says Dr Welch.

As a member of Better Bees WA, the oldest bee breeding program in Australia, Red Earth Honey makes it easy for beekeepers to obtain high-quality queens with desirable traits at a reasonable price.
